Well, unlike last week, we really didn't gain much ground for the last week of March. I don't like to make excuses but I forgot about the EU DST and that is the reason why I traded bad this week, hahaha j/k. All kidding aside, it wasn't the greatest week, but at least we managed to keep most of the pips we made last week. Overall, March was definitely alot better than February and I'm hoping that April will be even better. Hope you all did well.

Well even with the plethora of news reports today, there was still no clear direction. The Euro stayed inside its range and didn't give us much to look at. Overall it was a pretty boring day for the Alba system. So it wasn't a great finish for March but we were still able to manage a decent number of pips. I'm looking forward to a brand new month next week. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Woohoo! After following the footsteps of one of our traders (thanks Brad) I decided I was going to hold onto this trade for longer than I usually do. There was an Alba breakout at 9:30 am and I entered 3 lots long at 2138 with a stop at 2087 and a target at 2169. Once again, 12 noon rolled by and our target still was not hit. However, instead of closing my trade early, I waited it out and just now closed my trade at 2:30 at 2160. 1 more day to go for March, and hopefully we'll end up on a strong note. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Good Morning! The fourth quarter GDP came in pretty much as expected at 1.7 vs. consensus at 1.6. Also, the weekly Jobless Claims 10K lower at 302K. Both reports pushed up the dollar slighty. So, for all of you Alba traders keep a watch on the EUR/USD. Right now it's trading in the middle of the EU range, and it can continue range trading through out the rest of the session. Let's hope not and get a good signal or breakout. Remember the Alba rules and trust in them. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

For me, it was another loss. For Alba, it was a win. So technically, this doesn't count as 3 losing days in a row :) Actually, it's just me trying to justify my loss today, haha. At 11:30 am there was an Alba breakout and I entered 3 lots long at 2033 with a stop at 2015 and a target at 2048. By 12:30 my target still wasn't hit and it looked like the market was dead so I closed all 3 of my lots out at 2028. Had I waited until a little after 1:00 pm, my target would've eventually gotten hit. So not a good day for me, but it was a good day for Alba. Hopefully MY trading will be better tomorrow :) Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Good morning! We do not have any significant US economic reports out today except for the EIA Crude oil inventories at 10:30 am EST. It's a weekly report, so unless there's a significant surprise it usually does not have a huge market impact. At 8:45 am EST, New York Fed Pres. Geithner will speak at the New York Fed Conference, and at 9:00 am EST Treasury Under Sec. Adams will testify to the Senate on US economic relations with China. Again, unless there are significant statements from either I don't see them as market moving factors. Regarless, keep your eyes and ears open for an Alba breakout or signal. The market has a way of surprising us if we're not on our toes. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

Unfortunately, Alba took another loss today. Although the trade looked good, the market decided to do it's own thing like it always does :) At the close of the 10:10 candle there was an Alba signal and I entered 3 lots short at 2063 with a stop at 2086 and a target at 2052. The price got as low as 2056 but then proceeded to head back towards the EU high where it just hung around probably waiting for the Fed's statements today. By 12:30 my target still wasn't hit and I decided to cut my losses as I closed all 3 lots at 2075. This marks only the 3rd time we've had 2 losing days in a row since inception of the system and I'm hoping that the rest of the week will give us something good so we can finish of March on a strong note. Good morning! Well, the euro made a move last night on the back of strong economic numbers out of Germany, but now it's back in sideways mode. The story of the day is the Federal Reserve interest rate decision, but more importantly traders will be looking for any evidence in their statement for the Fed's future moves.
US Consumer confidence data is being released at 10:00 am EST. Unless there is a big drop in the number I do not see traders making a move before the Fed statement.
The interest rate statement will be made at 2:15 am EST, so we may not see any movement during our trading time frame. Stay focused, good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

After a great week last week, we've started off on a bit of a slump today. With the lack of economic reports, and the fact that it's a Monday, there was very little movement in the Eur/Usd today. At 11:20am there was an Alba breakout and I entered 3 lots short at 2006 with a stop at 2025 and a target at 1996. Unfortunately the price did not continue down and pretty much just stayed still for the rest of the day. By 12:30 pm my target was still not hit and although I was negative, I felt like it was time to cut my losses. I exited all 3 lots at the close of the 12:20 candle at 2009. Although it was a loss, I'm satisified with being able to keep the loss small. Hopefully the rest of the week will be better. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Well just like PipCrawler predicted, the US New Home Sales had a major impact on today's market even though Forex Factory only categorized it as a yellow event. Housing data has had a lot of significance lately and it's a good thing we paid attention to it. At 10:20 we had an Alba breakout and I entered 3 lots long at 2022 with a stop at 1970 and a target at 2048. Unfortunately, there was not enough juice to make the Euro shoot up some more but we did get a gradual increase in price throughout the rest of the day. By 1pm my target was still not hit so I decided to go ahead and close all 3 lots at 2037 since I was already in profit and it was getting late in the day. It was a great way to end this week and I hope you all were able to get in on it. Have a great weekend everyone! ~Big Pippin

Good Morning! Today at 8:30 am EST we have US Durable Goods orders. I've seen different consensus numbers from different sources, but Forex Factory has their number at -1.2%. Whatever it may be it should have a significant impact given the volatility we have seen in that report month to month. At 10:00 am EST we have the US New Home Sales. I think this number will have significance because of the strong housing report yesterday. Alright Alba traders, another small range of 25 pips last night. Traders are on the sidelines waiting to jump in, so watchout for a breakout! Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

Another great day for the Alba system! At 10am we had the Existing Home Sales report and the report came out higher than expecting creating a dollar surge today. The Euro proceeded to drop and at 10:20 we had an Alba breakout. I entered 3 lots short at 2014 with a stop at 2058 and a target at 1992. My target was hit on the next candle and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. I held on to my trade and waited to see if the price would drop any lower but at 12:30pm I decided to go ahead and close out my last lot at 1978 because I didn't think the dollar would gain any more ground on the Euro today. Good morning! Today we have US weekly Unemployment Claims coming out 8:30 am EST and and Existing Home Sales at 10:00 am EST. We also have ECB speak in the afternoon at 2:30 pm EST. Existing Home Sales could be a surprise today considering how interest rates have been affecting the housing market. Looks like traders are yet again on the sidelines with the EU range at 26 pips. I expect more range trading ahead of the FOMC meeting next week, but let's hope that the reports start a trend today and give us a breakout. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

Good Morning! It looks like to only US economic report coming out today is the EIA Crude Oil Inventories. It is the weekly report of how much oil is held in inventory by US firms. It has a low volatiliy ranking at Forex Factory, so it may not have an affect on EURUSD, but keep an eye out what happens with USDCAD. Historically, the loonie has had some correlation with oil prices. The EURUSD made a range of 47 pips last night. Since there are no forseen market moving factors, I would look for support and resistance at the EU highs and lows, but keep on your toes for any breakouts or alba signals. The dollar looks to be range bound while traders wait to see what the Fed does next. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

My target was hit at 10:10 am and I closed 2 lots out and moved my stop to breakeven. Hello everyone! Today was a good day for Alba as we were able to snag some pips. Although we missed getting a lot more because our last lot was stopped out by 1 pip before shooting up some more later in the day. The CPI was at 8:30 and Trichet spoke at 9:00 so I didn't look for any trades until about 9:20. At 9:50 there was an Alba signal and I entered 3 lots long at 2135 with a stop at 2128 and a target at 2147. My target was hit on the next candle and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. Good Morning! So far, it's been a pretty exciting week for all of you Alba traders and today shouldn't be any different. At 8:30 am EST we have a ton of US economic reports, but the one to watch for is CPI excl Food & Energy m/m. The consensus is 0.2%, so watch out for a surprise in that number. We have ECB President Trichet and Fed Gov Kohn both speaking in Frankfurt, Germany at 9:00 am and 10:10 am EST respectively. Any surprise comments should factor in the market about an hour or two after made, so we probably won't see the effect of their comments within the time frame of our session. Also, the Philadelphia Fed Index is coming out at 12:00 pm EST. Historically not a market mover, but keep an eye out for it if we are still in a trade at that point. Remember to stay focused...Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

2:30 pm EST- 1 Trade lost
Hello everyone! Today was a very dramatic day in the market as I was taken on one hell of a roller coaster ride :) There was an Alba breakout at 9:20 and I entered 3 lots long at 2055 with a stop at 2019 and a target at 2077. The price dropped and almost took me out but then rallied back up again only to stay put around the EU high. After 12 I decided I was going to try to get at or as close to breakeven as possible. I ended up getting out at 2054 at 12:20. So once again, we were saved from what could've been a massive loss. Hopefully the rest of the week will be less dramatic. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Well today was finally a good day for Miss Alba. After disappointing numbers from the Current Account and Retail Sales report, the Euro gained some ground against the dollar. At 10:10 am there was an Alba breakout and I entered 3 lots long at 1996 with a stop at 1957 and a target at 2016. My target was hit on the next candle and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. I trailed my last lot's stopped and was eventually stopped out at the low of the candle marked on the chart which was at 2010. Hope you all were able to catch that one :) Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Hello everyone! Today was not a good day for Alba but at the same time it wasn't the worst. I was able to cut my losses and if I would've held onto my trade, it would've eventually won. Of course there was no way to tell that the trade would've ended up going my way, but I was happy to get out at near breakeven. At 11:10 there was a good Alba signal and I entered 3 lots long at 1945 with a stop at 1924 and a target at 1956. My target wasn't hit by 12 so I held onto it and decided to close it out at 2 pm at 1943 since it was near breakeven. Had I held the trade 20 minutes longer, my target would've gotten hit, but like I said before, there was no way for me to know that. Mondays can be tricky so I'm content with only losing a few pips today. Let's hope for better days this week :) Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Good morning! It's Monday and there are no economic reports coming out today during today's trading session. There are significant reports coming out this week such as Current Account and Retail sales on Tuesday, TIC report on Wednesday, and CPI on Thursday, so I think it's going to be a light day today as far as volatility with traders waiting for these US economic reports. So, if you decide to trade today make sure you stick with the rules of the Alba system. They might save you from entering a bad trade. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

What a crazy day in the market today! After some heavy volatility due to the NFP release my charts and trade station went a little crazy and actually prevented me from getting in the correct trade. Luckily another opportunity occurred and I was able to snag some pips. At 9:10 am there was an Alba breakout and I entered short at 1885 with a stop at 1908 and a target at 1776. My target was hit on the next candle and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. I trailed my stop and was eventually taken out at the high of the candle that is marked on the chart which was 1874. Although we had a win, it wasn't enough to compensate for our losses earlier in the week which makes it another losing week for us. This is the 4th week since inception that we've had a losing week. Hopefully we'll have a better week next week. Cheers. ~Big Pippin

Good morning! Well, it's US Non Farm Payroll day here in the forex market and for those of you who play it right it's like Christmas all over again! haha. Well, we have that report coming out at 8:30 am EST, and by judging on the range of 21 pips last night in the EURUSD, everybody and their mama is waiting for this late report(NFP usually comes out the first friday of the month). As usual, we wait 30 minutes to an hour to for the extreme volatility to fade and for a trend to form. The consensus is at 220K, so let's watch out for any surprises. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

Hello everyone. Trade deficits were wider than expected causing the Euro to rise but apparently it wasn't enough to make a major impact as the market corrected itself within an hour. There was an Alba breakout at 9:10 but because Fed governer Kohn was speaking at 9:30, we did not enter. After the testimony, the market pretty much stayed flat resulting in no trades for the day. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

It was another humbling day today in the market. This marks the only the 3rd time since the Alba system has lost 2 trades in a row. At 10:10 there was a good looking Alba signal and I entered 3 lots long at 1926 with a stop at 1899 and a target at 1940. Good morning! We have Fed speak at 9:30 am EST with Fed President Poole and at 12:00 pm EST from the Fed Chairman Bernanke. The only US economic report we have is EIA Crude Oil Inventories at 10:30 am EST. Unless there are surprise comments during the Fed speak or an unusually high or low number in the Inventory number, I don't see much movement from the market during our session. I think traders will hold off until Bernanke gives his speech in the afternoon before making any big bets. Even though we're expecting a slow day always stay ready. You never know what may happen, so stay on your toes. Good luck and good trading. ~Pipcrawler

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Today we have Factory Orders coming out at 10:00 am EST. Factory Orders is the change in the orders for goods in the manufacturing sector. The forecasted number is -5.4%, so economists are expected weakness which could be good for the euro, bad for the dollar. At the moment the EURUSD is trading at the low of the EU session and it will probably remain there until about 10:00 am EST when Factory Orders come out. Although it wasn't a spectacular win, it was still a fine way to close out the week. At 9am there was an Alba signal/breakout. Just by glancing at it I thought there was a big enough potential reward to enter but in hindsight it actually wasn't. Our pip profit was only 4 pips per lot after the spread and I normally don't take trades that don't give me at least 5. Like I said, at the time it looked like it was a big enough trade and I entered it. I entered 3 lots long at 2043 with a stop at 2028 and a target at 2050. My target was hit at 9:30 and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. Later in that candle, the price shot down and stopped out my last lot. So it was a very small win but who am I to complain about a win? :) Have a great weekend everyone. ~Big Pippin

The Euro is finally starting to move and we are once again able to recapture some pips. It was tempting to enter on that beautiful breakout at 10am but I didn't do it because of the fact that Orson (Fed) had a testimony at that time. It took some patience but I finally saw a good Alba signal at 11:20. I entered 3 lots long at 2009 with a stop at 1986 and a target at 2024. Since the trade was still on after 12pm I decided that I was going to watch it very close and close all 3 targets at or near my target. If by 1 pm my target was not near being hit or if I was negative, I was going to close my trade out. At 12:40 the price reached within 1 pip of my target and I decided to go ahead and close all 3 lots at the close of that candle which was at 2021. In hindsight, you could see that the target would've eventually been hit later on at about 2:20 pm. Either way, I can't complain about the win :)

After another day full of news events we had another win with the Alba system. Early on it looked like we would have an Alba breakout on the long side, but because the profit potential was so small, I did not enter. The clear signal happened at 11:40 when we saw both a breakout and a signal. When this happens it usually means there will be a strong possibility of a winning trade. I entered 3 lots short at 1908 with a stop at 1927 and a target at 1898. My target was hit on the next candle and I closed 2 lots out and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. I trailed my stop to 1897 on the dip from the next candle but was stopped out a minute later when the price shot back up. Overall it was another satisfying win for the Alba system.

Good morning! We another day full of US economic data. At 8:30 am EST we have the US Personal Income and Personal Spending. Personal spending is the number to watch with consensus at 1.0%. It makes up a significant part in GDP, and a rise in this number can strengthen the US dollar. At 10:00 am EST we have the ISM Manufacturing Index, Construction Spending, and at 10:30 am EST EIA Crude Oil Inventories coming out. The number to watch out of the the previously mentioned is the ISM Manufacturing Index number at 56.0. A number over 50 implies a growing manufacturing sector. Well, the EURUSD traded in a small range of 22 pips during the early morning sessions, so let's look for a possible breakout with these news reports coming out.
