Alba results for 7.24.06 - 7.28.06

Well this week helped us close the month of July on a strong note. Even though it looked like we might have our 2nd losing month, the markets finally began to pick up and we were able to grab some pips. I'm hoping after this month we can back into full stride with the Alba system and begin to bring in bigger profits.

4:45 pm EST- No trade

Well like a typical Monday, there wasn't much going on today in the market. The Euro pretty much stayed range bound and I did not see any breakouts. We almost had an Alba signal but the price closed too close to our EU session low for us to take it. Overall it was a very quiet day and not a good time to trade. Hope you all were able to avoid the temptation to trade today :) Cheers! ~Big Pippin

On Friday, July 28, I had a breakout after the news report and was at a nice profit. I came close to hitting my target but then the price shot back down and I ended up having to close my trade out at breakeven. Sometimes thats just how it works out. At least I didn't end up losing anything. The market will just do what it wants :)

Forex Trade- 7.27.06

3:10 pm EST- 1 Trade Lost

Today was an interesting day in the Euro. We had economic reports at both 8:30 and 10:00. As you all know I do not like trading around news candles so I wait at least 20 minutes until after the news before entering a trade. After the 8:30 reports I saw an Alba breakout at 9:10 am EST. I entered 3 lots long at 2762 with a stop at 2732 and a target at 2778. The Euro got within 5 pips of hitting my target but then reversed on me. Knowing that there was another news report coming out at 10:00 am EST I closed all 3 of my lots when the price looked like it was not going to hit my target. I ended up getting out at around 9:45 at 2754. After the 10:00 am news I did not see any other trades. There was some good movement today it just didn't go the way I hoped. I am definitely happy now that the market is starting to move. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Forex Trade- 7.26.06

4:50 pm EST- 1 Trade Won

Well today was a bittersweet day for me. I was able to manage a win which is always nice but unfortunately Alba took me out a little early and I missed nice move that happened later on in the day. I saw an Alba breakout at 10:10 am EST and I entered 3 lots long at 2310 with a stop at 2592 and a target at 2322. My target was hit at 10:30 am EST and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven where unfortunately I was stopped out on the next candle. The market took a quick breathe and then proceeded with the trend as I watched on the sidelines. I'm only human. I can't help but want those pips that I missed out on but I'm still content with the fact that the system won today. There will always be moves like this in the future. Hopefully I'll be on the next one :) Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Forex Trade- 7.25.06

2:50 pm EST- 1 Trade Won

Well after a long wait we finally saw some movement today. It was caused by the unexpected jump in the consumer confidence report. This surprise led to a boost in the dollar and caused the euro to drop like a rock. At 10:30 am EST I saw an Alba breakout and I entered 3 lots short at 2615 with a stop at 2664 and a target at 2590. My target was hit at 11:20 am EST and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to the high of that candle. I continued to trail my last lot's stop up until the high of the candle marked in the chart which is where I was eventually stopped out at 2566. I've been waiting a long time for this kind of movement and I'm glad we finally got a good sized trade. Hopefully we can continue to see these kinds of moves the rest of the month. Hope you all caught some of these pips. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Forex Trade- 7.24.06

3:30 pm EST- Breakeven trade

Well once again, we start the week of slow. There wasn't much movement in the EUR/USD today but I did still see a signal. I was kind of weary about it because it happened late in the day and because of that I decided to hold onto my trade longer than normal. At 11:00 am EST I saw an Alba signal and I entered 3 lots short at 2619 with a stop at 2635 and a target at 2610. By 2:00pm EST my target still wasn't hit and I decided to close my trade out. I waited until the price reached breakeven and I closed out all 3 lots. It wasn't the start I was looking for but at least we got through the day without a scratch. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Alba results for 7.17.06 - 7.20.06

Well it was an ok week for Alba but I'm disappointed that we aren't seeing more movement. Right now it feels as if we are in a lull so I am hoping to hold steady until the movement picks up again. I didn't trade on Friday because I was on the road driving up from Florida back to Virginia. That is a loooong drive. I don't recommend that you do it! Anyways, let's hope for next week to be better. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

9:05 pm EST- 1 Small Trade Won

Well movement today was minimal but we were still able to grab a few pips. At 11:20 am EST there was an Alba signal and I entered 3 lots short at 2628 with a stop at 2647 and a target at 2619. At 12:30 pm EST the Euro dropped within 3 pips of my target and since it was already past our trading hours I decided to close all 3 of my lots. I exited at 2623. It wasn't the ideal trade, but at least it worked out ok. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and we can end on a good not. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Forex Trade- 7.19.06

3:30 pm EST- No Trades

Well we had plenty of economic reports today to fuel the market but unfortunately it wasn't enough to give us a breakout or signal. Both the 8:30 and 10:00 candle caused breakouts but because I don't trade news candles, I stayed out. After each of those candles I didn't see any further confirmation that those trends would continue and stayed out both times. Hopefully we'll have better days tomorrow and Friday.

On a side note, I thought I might add that I see a possible trade for the AUD/USD. This is more of a swing trade so the risk is fairly high. I will set an entry order to buy the AUD/USD at 7566 with a stop at 7456 and a target at 7766. If this trade is not triggered by the end of the trading day tomorrow, I will remove my order. I just thought I'd throw it out there because it looks like a nice trade. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

7:50 pm EST- 1 Trade Won

Well with the plethora of economic reports today, the market gave us enough juice to grab a trade. At 10:00 am EST, there was an Alba signal and I entered 3 lots short at 2507 with a stop at 2547 and a target at 2486. My target was hit at 10:30 am EST and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to the high of that candle. I trailed my last lot's stop to the high of the next candle which is where I was eventually stopped out at 11:00 am EST at 2493. Overall it was a decent day and I'm hoping we can have more trades like this during the rest of this month. Hope you all were able to grab some pips as well! Cheers! ~Big Pippin

2:50 pm EST- No trades

Well like a typical Monday, there was very little movement during our session today. Unlike the EU session where the Euro dropped over 100 pips, the US session provided very little action. We'll just have to wait until tomorrow and hope that we can finally start seeing some movement during our trading time. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

2:10 pm EST- No trade

Well today was full of economic reports but unfortunately I didn't see any good entry points. It wasn't until 9:45-10:00 am EST that I came close to taking a trade. Consumer sentiment was only marked as a yellow event on Forex Factory, but because I wasn't in a trade, I waited to see what the 9:40 and 9:50 candle would do. At 9:50 we saw a big move which caused a breakout. Because this move was volatile, I treated it as if it were a regular news candle and stayed out of the trade, deciding to wait at least 20 minutes to take a trade. After that move, I did not see any further breakout or signal trades and ended up staying on the sidelines today. Overall it's been a strange week but I'm staying optimistic that the next week will bring in better trades. Have a great weekend everyone! ~Big Pippin

Forex Trade- 7.13.06

4:15 pm EST- 1 Trade Lost

Unfortunately today was another loss for the Alba system. It seems we just can't get out of this slump. I kind of had a bad feeling about the trade just because it happened so late and there weren't that many fundamental reports out today. However, I stuck to the rules and entered accordingly. At 11:10 am EST there was an Alba breakout and I entered 3 lots short at 2666 with a stop at 2709 and a target at 2643. By 12:30 pm EST, my target was still not hit and I decided to cut my losses and closed all 3 lots out at 2674. We have a few economic reports tomorrow so hopefully we'll see some movement and can grab some pips. Happy trading everyone! ~Big Pippin

Even with the Trade Balance report we still did not have a good Alba breakout or signal. The actual news candle at 8:30 caused an Alba breakout but because I don't trade news candles, I stayed out. After the news, the price hovered around the EU low and never gave me a good entry for another breakout or signal. We'll just have to wait another day. Must.....have.....patience....! 8:00 am EST - Analysis

Good morning! We have U.S. economic reports coming out today at 8:30 am EST and 10:30 am EST. Most notably, we have the U.S. Trade Balance at 8:30 am EST. The consensus is about -64.6 B, but we may see a surprise after the better than expected Chinese export report. We also have ECB Pres. Trichet in a discussion with Giuliano Amato, Minister of Internal Affairs on the Euro economy at 11:30 am EST. His comments will affect the euro, but we probably won't see it during out trading time frame. So, please be cautious during those trading times. Good luck and good trading! ~ Pipcrawler

Today we had a small win with an Alba signal. At 9:00 am EST, there was a good Alba signal and I entered 3 lots short at 2726 with a stop at 2740 and a target at 2717. My target was hit on the next candle and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. Unfortunately, the price reversed and stopped me out at breakeven on the very next candle. So it was another small win, but at least it we were positive for the day. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

2:20 pm EST- 1 Trade Lost

Well unfortunately today was not a good start to the week. Early on the market teased us of a short trade as the Euro hovered around the EU session low. It wasn't until 9:30 am EST that I saw a good Alba breakout. I entered 3 lots short at 2723 with a stop at 2738 and a target at 2715. Unfortunately the Euro did not continue to head down and retraced just enough to stop us out. It wasn't a huge loss but I would've much rather had a win today. It's still early in the week so I'm hoping we can make up some ground in the next few days. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

Seeing how there was a tight range during the EU session, I definitely expected a breakout. The breakout occured as a result of the Non Farm Payroll but because it was a news candle I did not trade it. After that, the price pretty much just stayed put and I didn't see any good breakout or signals so I just stayed out of the market. No trade is better than a losing trade so I'm ok with missing out on the move :) Cheers! ~Big Pippin

8:00 am EST - Analysis

Good morning! Well, it's the first Friday of the month, which means at 8:30 am EST we get the US Non-Farm Payroll report! This report measures the number of new jobs created in the previous month, and it's a market mover. Now, consensus has been all over the place, so traders have no idea what to expect. Be very cautious and stay out of the market Alba traders until the volatility dies down. Good luck, good trading, and have a great weekend!

Good Morning! Well, we saw the ECB leave interest rates in the European Union unchanged this morning, and now we are waiting for comments for Trichet at 8:30 am EST. Any hawkish comments on future interest rate policies should cause a bullish move in the euro.

Also, be aware of weekly unemployment report at 8:30 am EST, and ISM non-manufacturing index at 10:00 am EST. Both are not major market movers, but be aware for any large deviations from consensus. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler

3:15 pm EST- 1 Trade Won

Well after the first day back, we were able to grab some pips and start the month off on a good note. Since the Factory Orders report was only a yellow event on Forex Factory, I knew that I would still take a trade if I saw one before the report. If there was no trade before the report and the actual news candle was volatile (30+ pips in range) I would've then treated it as a news candle and waited at least 20 minutes before trading. In today's case I saw an Alba breakout at 9:40 am EST and I entered 3 lots short at 2722 with a stop at 2737 and a target at 2714. My target was hit at 10:10 am EST and I closed 2 lots and moved my last lot's stop to breakeven. I trailed my last lot's stop to the high of the candle shown on the chart where I was eventually stopped out at 10:50 am EST at 2715. Even though it was only a small win, it was a nice way to come back into the market, especially after last month's disappointing results. Hope you all did well today. Cheers! ~Big Pippin

8:00 am EST - Analysis

Good morning! For all those in the U.S., I hope you had a wonderful, and very extended holiday weekend. I know for me personally, I have had enough hot dogs and hamburgers to last me for a while! Well, it's back to forex trading. It's a new month and hopefully we can start it off right.

Today we have US Factory Orders m/m released at 10:00 am EST. The consensus is 0.1% versus the previous month of -1.8%. A rising trend in this number shows growth in the economy which is good for a country's currency. So, please be cautious during this time period, and be on the look out for any comments from the ECB on interest rates or inflation. Good luck and good trading! ~Pipcrawler
